Beulah Beryl Baker Brown left this world peacefully on June 24th, 2016.  Beulah was born on September 9, 1924 in Noble county in southern Ohio and spent her childhood and early years there on her family farm.  She moved to Ravenna in the 1940's where that she met and married her loving husband, Claude William Brown (former Mayor of Brady Lake).  They moved to Brady Lake in 1949 where they raised their family of 8 daughters, Virginia Ward (Junior) King of Ieager W. Va., Pauline (Glen) Stutzman of Brimfield ,Oh., Linda (Skip) Wilson of Cambridge, Oh., Peggy (Larry) McFadden of Norfolk, Va., Patty (Mike) Miles of Matthews, N.C., Pam (Chuck) Miller of Ravenna, Oh., Penny (Jeff) Kegg of Kent, Oh., and Patsy (Eric) Masar of Charleston, SC.  She was devoted to her faith and Lord Jesus Christ, and was a long standing member of the Brady Lake Baptist Church.

One of America’s “greatest generation”, Beulah witnessed and lived through many tumultuous world events including the Great Depression, World War 2, and endured many difficult personal tragedies including the infant deaths of two sons, Claude William and Ronald Eugene.   She managed each with an ever present confidence in the saving grace of Jesus Christ that gave those around her strength when they needed it most.

Before she was born, her mother had promised her brother, who was away at war, that he could name her.  True to her promise, she was called  simply "Baby Girl" until she was 2 years old, when her brother returned home and named her "Beulah".   Beulah loved her family beyond words and she showed it every day with her generosity and loving concern for all.  Christmas at Grandma’s will forever be etched in our memories as she reveled in her beautiful family surrounding her while celebrating the birth of Christ.   Although she will be sorely missed, her deep faith, unyielding strength and love for her family will keep her memory alive in all those whose lives she touched.

Beulah was preceded in death by her parents William and Anna Cantwell Baker, husband Claude William Brown. Brothers Harold, Lawrence, James , Donald, and sisters Ruth, Elsie, and Frieda.

Beulah was blessed with a large and loving family including 21 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews. A celebration of Beulah’s life will be held Monday, June 27, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
