Allan and Julie, I haven't seen you in many years. I was unable to make it to the service but wanted you to know I've been praying for all of you. You will never know how much your dad and mom meant to me. We were just young kids when we lived in the trailer by their house. They were like parents to me and I looked up to them so much. They have given me a lot of wise counsel over the years and taught me many things. They exemplified Christ in everything they did. What a special couple you two were blessed to have as parents.

Lots of fond memories of riding Ravenna Bus 2 driven by the very personable Carl McDaniel from the A&W Rootbeer Stand to Brown Junior High and back for 3 years. He was not just a careful bus driver, he also showed his passengers great respect, getting to know each of us. He had a gentle sense of humor that I really enjoyed, and there was no doubt that he was a very moral person. On one occasion he felt it necessary to handle an incident with a few of us, and he did so very carefully after discussing it with the school officials. I wave a broom in loving memory of Carl.

As a fellow bus driver, I met Carl and we became very good friends till I moved to Florida in 1968. Karen and I would visit Mary and Carl at their homes (I say homes as Carl was quite the carpenter, building one of his houses up on rt. 88 near Jane). He always led us in prayer when we would leave. His Christmas cards always contained a nice letter and bible verses. He was on my bowling team for a few years. When we would come up to Ravenna I made sure I would stop in for a visit. I will always remember him, his wife and their children as the children rode my bus when they lived on rt. 5 out past Cotton corners.

I fondly remember Carl as our school bus driver for many years. He always kept his kid passengers in line. He was strict, but ALWAYS fair and kind to us. What a great bus driver he was! A few years after I joined the Air Force I was home on leave and stopped in for a visit at his house. We spent several great hours chatting, mostly about our Lord God because both of are Christians. What a great time we had! What a great Christian example Carl was! He will be missed. I've sent a prayer to the Lord to comfort his surviving family members. Take comfort in knowing that Carl is enjoying eternal peace with his Creator.

As a child growing up on Peck Rd., Carl was our bus driver for many years. Years later, he was our insurance man (my husband and I). Carl was always a great witness who loved The Lord and we are privileged and blessed to have known him. Our deepest condolences to the family. Karen (McCoy) Cannon & Larry Cannon
