Chester "Alf" Chronoski, age 78 of Streetsboro, passed away Saturday, September 9,
2017. He was born on March 24, 1939 in McIntyre, Pa to the late Jake and Alice (Press)
Chronoski.
Alf was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne from 1957-1959. Married on December 11,
1965, and preceeded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Janet L. Chronoski. He
retired in 1989 from the Ford Motor Company in Walton Hills after 30 years. Alf was
also owner Alf's Tree Nursery in Pa and sold Christmas Trees and shrubs in Streetsboro to
local vendors for over 50 years. He was a member of the Eagles and VFW and he looked
forward to "fish Friday's". He enjoyed making multiple varieties of wine, attending
auctions and was a regular at Northfield Race Park.
He is also preceded in death by grandson, Cody Chronoski, granddaughter, Samantha
Chronoski and great granddaughter, Olivia. He is survived by his son, Charles "Chuck"
Chronoski of Ravenna, OH and daughter, Cheri (Mark) Jones of Canton, OH. His
memory is cherished by his grandchildren; Jennifer (James) Stout of Canton, OH,
Nicholas (Lacey) Jones of Dalton, OH and great grandchildren, Zoe, Madison, Aidan,
Jordan and Annabella and Emma.
Alf is also survived by his brothers Jake (Patsy) Chronoski, Edward (Jane) Chronoski and
Richard Chronoski, all of McIntyre, Pa, sisters, Florence Andrews and Betty Fancella,
sister-in-law, Nancy McAfoose of Indiana, Pa., brother-in-law, Jackson (Liz) Smith of
Jefferson, Oh, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. As per Alf's request, a
cremation has taken place, without calling hours. Arrangements were entrusted to Shorts
Spicer Crislip Funeral Home of Ravenna. Those wishing to send condolence or share a
