David L. Miller

David, “Dave” L. Miller, age 62 passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 following a valiant nine-month long battle with cancer.  Dave was born and raised in Youngsville, Pennsylvania and was a longtime resident of Ravenna, Ohio.  He was one of five children born to the late Paul and Ruth Miller.  Dave is survived by his siblings, Roberta (Wes) Sharrer, Linda Miller, Jane (Steve) Kim, and John Miller.  He leaves behind his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Gloria.  He will be forever remembered by his devoted children: Janine (Troy) Beros, Michael (Katie Ritter), Nicholas (Wade Rakes), and Victoria (Patrick) Sweeney as well as his treasured grandson, Everett Beros and his first and only pet, his dog “Prince”.  Dave will be missed by countless other friends and family that were blessed to know him.  He worked as a machinist for more than thirty years and prided himself on being a hardworking employee, always the first to volunteer for overtime and to go the extra mile with his projects.  Dave touched the lives of many people with his smile and warm personality.  He maintained his trademark kind nature throughout his entire life even during the most difficult of moments.  He will be remembered as someone who lived his life treating others the way that he wished to be treated.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the medical staff within the University Hospital system for the care that they provided.  Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday March 14, 2018 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday March 15, 2018 with Father William Kraynak officiating.  Private family burial will take place at the Swedish Union Cemetery in Tidioute, Pennsylvania.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society in the hopes of someday finding a cure.  Condolences and memories of Dave may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com
