Glenda Emily Ney 85, of Rootstown passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 in Centerville, Ohio after a short and courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born February 7, 1932 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania to David and Mary (Patterson) Ulbrich. Glenda graduated from East Palestine High School in Ohio and trained as a hair stylist. She retired from Oak Rubber in Ravenna, was an active member of the Ravenna Senior Center, where she loved participating in the center's activities with her friends and was in the local Red Hat Society. She was a member of the Rootstown United Methodist Church. Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, daughters Kathy Frient and Mary Finley, sister Marianne and husbands James Eller, Alexander Marcona and Charles Ney. Survivors include her daughters Linda (Lee) Mallory and Nancy (Homer) Gregory, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister Ruth Ulbrich, brother David Ulbrich, son in laws Paul Frient and Steve Finley, brother in law Mel Campbell and special friend Debbie Clemens. Calling hours will be from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 11 AM Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Rootstown United Methodist Church with Pastor Don Richards officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers the family request yo consider donating to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
