On a sunny warn day on August 6, 1936 in Dunns, West Virginia, a baby boy , Jackie Lee Meadows, Sr.  was born.  On a dark, rainy and dreary day  Friday, October 21, 2016, he passed from this world to the next.  Mr. Meadows has lived in Ravenna since 1960 and was the owner of Meadows Upholstering.  He was a soft spoken gentlemen, honest, compassionate and willing to help anyone.  What gave him great joy was his love to Christmas shop for toys and things for the Center of Hope.  He was a hard worker his whole life, whether is was working  at his business or his love of working on cars, wood working or anything mechanical.  Having a gift to gab, he made friends where ever he went, enjoying playing jokes on friends and  was easy to laugh.   Mr. Meadows had a love of animals, especially his three girls, Taszlee Anne, Mindy Sue and Peggy Sue.  He married the love of his life Patricia D. (Williams) Meadows on January 13, 1968.  In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his memory are his son Johnny (Debbie) Meadows of Maryland, his four grandchildren, Cristie, Kaitlyn, Johnny II, Jay-Me, two great grandchildren, his half sister Carla Crum and special friend Dianna Garrett.  He was preceded in death by his son Jackie Lee Meadows, Jr. on March 30, 2003,  his father Velmer Lilly and his mother Alice Osborne.  Calling hours  will be on Tuesday October 25, 2016 from 11:00 AM until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Pastor Diane Balog officiating.  Following the funeral, he will be laid to rest by his son in Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio. Condolences and memories of Jackie may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
