James P. Vargo II

Jim "Jimbug" Vargo, 58 years of age, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at home in Streetsboro, following a 3 year battle with cancer. The first born son of James P. Vargo, deceased, and Peg Vargo, he was born in Ravenna, Ohio March 9, 1959 and was a lifelong resident of the Streetsboro area and often said "it's where I belong". He is survived by his mother, son James, grandson Jimmy IV and daughter Leeanne. He attended Streetsboro High  School, where he enjoyed and excelled in Cross Country and High Jump setting a record for that time. Marching Band and his Clarinet were his favorites. Fishing and Fun at Drag Races made for great family time in his younger years. Son Jimmy, brother Tim and nephew Timmy remember Ping Pong tournaments, bowling, golfing, hiking, racing and softball as fond memories. Family reunions always brought out his skills at the grill. Later he became, by necessity, skillful at rescuing rascals and varmints (skunks, raccoons, etc) from Mom's back yard earning him the title of TRAPPER JIM. To honor Jim, memorial calling hours will be from 3:00 PM until time of memorial service at 4:00 PM Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel with Ralph Price officiating.
