Welcome to the memorial page for

Michelle L. (Harris) O'Dor

January 10, 1966 ~ December 11, 2017 (age 51) 51 Years Old

Michelle O’Dor, 51 of Ravenna passed away unexpectedly on Monday December 11, 2017 at her home.   Known in her early years as Shelly Harris, she was born in Ravenna on January 10, 1966, she attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Rootstown High School in 1984 and earned a Radiology Degree from St. Thomas Hospital in 1988.

She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Doug O’Dor of Ravenna, and the light of her life, her daughter Allie and her husband John Machulis also of Ravenna.  Her family was her entire world and everything she did was with them in mind.  She loved baking and cooking (her sausage cheese dip is legendary to those who knew her) and took great pride in making her house a home for those she loved.  She was a voracious reader, rarely seen without a book in her hands and an avid cross stitcher.  Projects  she has made over the years will live on in tribute of her talent with a needle and her love for those she gifted .

Michelle worked for Medispec and traveled the country training medical personnel on a Lithotripsy Machine and assisting patients by handling cases in regional hospitals up and down the east coast. She was well respected in her field and will be missed by patients, nurses and doctors alike.

She leaves behind her immediate family; her parents Curt and Karen (Newcomb) Harris of Rootstown; brother Jim (Jen) Harris of Doylestown; sister Sue (Andy) Santerre of North Yarmouth Maine; nieces Erin Harris, Sara and Sami Santerre and nephews Grant and Tyler Harris; Father-in-Law Don O’Dor of Ravenna; sister in laws Linda O’Dor of Columbus and Nancy Goldstein of California as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her Mother-in-Law Elaine O’Dor of Ravenna.

Michelle was opinionated, especially about her politics and was strong in her beliefs.  She was not afraid to stand up for what she felt was right whether you agreed or not.  She was a free spirit and never conformed to someone else’s set of rules. These traits did not always endear her to others but she was always irrevocably, true to herself.  She was loved beyond measure and her loss leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her best.  Calling hours will be from 11:00 Am until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM on Saturday December 16, 2017 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral  Homes Ravenna Chapel with Father William Kraynak officiating.  Private family burial will take place at a later date.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations made to American Heart Association or charity of your choice.    Condolences and memories of Michelle may be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
