Shirley Pauline Kaser, 80 of Ravenna, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018. She was born February 3, 1937 in Shalersville to Ira Preston and Florence Adesta (Hoskin) Chalker. Shirley was the owner and operator of Shirley's Hair Affair in Mantua and later lived in Millersburg and worked as a Pharmacy Tech at Pomerene Hospital.  She was co-leader of TOPS #1523 in Ravenna. She will be remembered for her gift of music that touched everyone who knew her. Shirley was an avid animal lover. She dearly loved her dogs and enjoyed watching birds; her favorite being the cardinal. Her family has the warmest memories of her infamous chocolate chip cookies, playing card games, singing songs and lots of laughter. She had the greatest sense of humor and delivered the best one-liners. Survivors include her loving children Vicki (Ray) Harper, Kelly (Robert) Conti, Shirley Krohn and Ronald (Ghada) Krohn, Jr., 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 8 nieces and 1 nephew, many friends and her beloved dog Murphy. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Margaret Prohn and brothers Marlin and Harrison Chalker. Calling hours will be from 5 PM until time of services at 7 PM Friday, January 5, 2018 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. At her request cremation will follow the service.
