Welcome to the memorial page for

Shirley M. (Chionchio) Taylor

May 1, 1935 ~ July 2, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years Old

On May 1, 1935, Shirley Mary (Chionchio) Taylor was the fourth daughter born to Italian immigrant parents Gaetano and Mary Grace (DeMaria) Chionchio in Ravenna, Ohio.   Shirley grew up in Ravenna with her three sisters and younger brother and moved to the neighboring town of Stow to raise her family.  Even though she lived in Connecticut for several years, she returned to Ohio after she retired.  Not only did she work as an office manager for several automotive dealers, she independently raised her six children, loved to bake delicious goodies and watch Tiger Woods tear up the golf course.   On July 2, 2017, Shirley passed away peacefully after a brief illness.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Maureena. Shirley is survived by her siblings Marie Fenn (Matt), Helen Visca,  and Gaetano Chionchio Jr.(Linda), her children Julie, Linda, Steve and his wife Sarah, April Long and husband Ron Koscinaski, Brad, and Lori, her grand children Jason and wife Tamara, Stefanie, Matthew and wife Natanya, Becky, Drew, Tom and wife Elizabeth, Kevin, Mollie and Max, and eight great grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday July 6 from 5-8 PM at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home’s, Ravenna Chapel.  Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 AM Friday July 7 at Immaculate Conception Church Ravenna, Ohio with Father William B. Kraynak officiating.  The family would like to thank the wonderful people of both Briarwood Nursing Home and Crossroads Hospice for the wonderful care provided to their mother.  Condolences and memories of Shirley may be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
