Wayne  Williams 79 of Deerfield passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born August 30, 1938 in Wilhoit, Kentucky yo Leige and Allie Williams and was the youngest of 10 children. Wayne proudly served 4 years in the Navy and his fondest memory was meeting Elvis Presley. He worshiped and served the Lord as a deacon at Blackhorse Baptist Church. Wayne retired from General Motors, where he was a tool & die maker. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.  Because he was a good and kind person, he will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his children Gwendolyn (Jacob) Ingram, Debbie Meliher, Cassandra Westfall, Wayne Williams, Kimberly Pol, David (Kerry) Williams and John Paul (Amanda) Williams, grandchildren Justin (Danielle) Kline, Jason Kline, Eric (Leslie) Johnston, Kayla Williams, Kaytln Williams, Kristen Williams, Wayne Pol, Travis Pol, Brianna Williams, Amber Williams, Stella Williams and great grandchildren Madison Kline, Jillian Kline, Jacxon Kline, Eliza Williams, Grayson Johnston and Adelaide Pol. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of almost 50 years Denetta and son Denver. Calling hours will be from 2 - 5 PM Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Monday, October 16, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Don Scott Monaco officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park in Ravenna.
