Ben Havens peacefully joined his late wife, Betty Havens, in heaven after passing away in his sleep at the Woodlands in Ravenna. A longtime resident of Rootstown, Ohio, where Ben and Betty raised seven children— William (and Linda) Havens, Becky (and Paul) Smith, Tammy (and Dave) Finfrock, Jeffrey (and Ginger) Havens, Bonnie (and William) King, Benjamin Jr. (and JoAnn) Havens, and Melody Havens.
He was a woodworker after being discharged from the Ohio National Guard. A Cleveland Indians fan, who spent many hours time playing Bingo. He will be deeply missed by his family.
Ben is preceded in death by his parents, wife (Betty Havens), great grand daughter (Ava Lynch) and his siblings. He is survived by his seven children and their spouses, as well as his many grandchildren (Eric Malcolm, Jessica [and Josh] Lynch, Crystal [and Dudley] Guerrero, Dylan Smith, Cory Havens, Ashley King, John Kirksey, Zac King, Breanna Havens, Alex Kiser, Ishmale Kirksey, Tiffany Havens, Emily Havens, Zoe Havens, Blake Havens, and Madison Havens) and great grand children (Natalie and Leland Guerrero).
Funeral arrangements will be held at the Shorts-Spricer-Crislip funeral home in Ravenna with calling hours from 10-11 a.m and funeral following at 11 a.m., with burial to take place at Grandview Cemetery in Ravenna Township.
