Benson Boyd Craft, 87 of Rootstown, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019, at home with his family by his side. Born December 20th, 1931 in Caldwell, Ohio to the late Loyal and Pearl (Boyd) Craft. Ben was a man of God who served as an Elder to the First Christian Church of Ravenna. Living in Rootstown for the past 59 years, he spent time on the Rootstown Board of Education as well as being President to the local Lions Club. Ben was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. After honorably serving active duty in the United States Air Force, he enjoyed a long career with Ohio Bell retiring in 1986 as regional manager. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson Joshua Berkley as well as his siblings Leora, Tom and Bill. Those left to cherish his memory are Patricia A. (Weekley) Craft his wife of 67 years as well as his children; Suzanne Berkley, Beth Hilbruner and David Craft. His grandchildren; Jacob (Sarah) Berkley, Neal Hilbruner, Matthew Craft, Nolan Hilbruner, Adam Craft, Gracie Hilbruner and Jessica Craft. His great-grandchildren; Emmah and Landon Berkley and finally his siblings Doris, Lynn, and Carol. The family would like to thank (VPA) Visiting Physician Association as well as Grace Hospice for their wonderful care and kindness. There will be no calling hours or services at this time. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Services will be held at a later date.
