Betsy Baragry Obituary

Betsy L. Baragry, of Streetsboro, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 25, 2019.  She was born in Grundy, VA on January 30, 1940 to the late Roy E. Johnson and Virginia Dickson.  She married John A. Baragry on January 16, 1976.  She received her GED in 1992 and went on to receive her Certification as a CNA and then entered the Akron School of Practical Nursing.  She graduated as an LPN in 1993.  She worked at Akron General for 8 years as a nurse.  After moving to Lenior, NC, she worked as an LPN for 2 years and then worked as a private duty nurse for 5 years.  After residing in Lenior, NC for 15 years, her and her husband moved back to Ohio.  She enjoyed sailing, flower gardening, sightseeing in the Appalachian mountains with a picnic lunch on hand while seeking out waterfalls and loved to travel.  She traveled to Ireland in 2000, Scotland in 2009 and returned to Scotland in 2012.  She was an avid reader and was known to always have a book on hand.  She also enjoyed baking for the Lenior Farmers Market and needlepointing angel pictures, several that adorned the walls of her home.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie (Johnson) Yurgen.  She is survived by her husband of 43 years, John A. Baragry; brothers John (Gladys) Johnson, Les (Sandra) Johnson, and Ray (Ruth) Dickson; children Ted (Mary Lou) Marcum, Ginny (Terry) Thornsberry, stepchildren Steve (Kim) Baragry, Bethany Baragry, Michelle (Elson) Hershberger; grandchildren Amanda (Erik) Klesch, Natalee (Garrett) Auckerman, Ben Baragry, TJ Thornsberry, Katelyn and Seth Hershberger; great-grandchildren Julia Rieger, Shawn Klesch, and Gauge Auckerman.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18 at 10am at Short-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home in Streetsboro.  Intermittent services will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls.  Services will be officiated by Pastor Bay of Mantua Country Baptist Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bella Care Hospice.  Condolences and memories of Betsy may be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com
