Betty Marie Smith, 74 of Shalersville passed away Saturday June 30, 2018 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna. She was born September 29, 1943 in Willoughby, Ohio to the late Les and Eleanor Reed. Betty has lived in Shalersville the past 28 years and was formerly of Lake County. She had worked at Pyramid Plastics in Cleveland, attended the First United Methodist in Ravenna, Ohio and was affiliated with Big Brothers and Sisters of Lake County. Survivors include her husband Bruce Smith whom she married February 14, 1990, her son Christopher (Hillary) Haag of Lovettsville, VA, her step children Michael (Brandi) Smith of Paso Robles, CA, Denise Smith of Ravenna, her grandchildren Zachary and Joshua Haag and step granddaughter Abigail Smith. At her requests, cremation has taken place and private family services have been held. Condolences and memories of Betty may be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
