Charles W. Eisele, was born to Herbert and Grace (Mindling) Eisele on the Mindling family farm in West Twp, Ohio and died peacefully at his home in Shalersville on May 26, 2017 surrounded by love. After losing his Dad at a young age his mother married GB (Jerry) Ellis who was a very loving father to him.  A Marine Veteran of the Korean War, he grew up in Youngstown and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School before attending The Ohio State University where he majored in Agriculture and met his first wife Joann (Josie) Harris Eisele.  Drafted into the Marine Corp, Chuck won the Marksman Medal in Parris Island, SC and was transferred to Oceanside, California where their son Mark was born. Upon his honorable discharge, Chuck and Josie moved to Berlin Center where he worked with his Dad at his gas station on South Ave in Youngstown.  From there, the family moved to Windham where Chuck ran Ellis Brothers Gas Station before opening the first Save 4 Store in 1963 which was founded by his father.  Chuck retired in 1998 and today the third generation family business is owned and operated by Chuck’s son Sam Eisele. Some of Chuck’s favorite hobbies included snowmobiling, golf, playing cards with friends, and volunteering with the Elks Club where he was the state Family Participation Chairman for 19 years, as well as the Eagles, and VFW.  He was proud to be a 20+ year volunteer at Robinson Memorial (UH Portage) Hospital.   His favorite pastime was mowing.  He was affectional known as “The Mad Mower of Mantua” as he was on his mower all the time. In 1990 Chuck married his wife Lois (Fritz) Eisele.  Lois and Chuck were very active in many charitable organizations as well as their church, Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bainbridge, Ohio. Chuck is survived by his loving wife Lois, his children Mark (Mary) of Ravenna, Sam (Trish) of Shalersville, Marilyn (Brian) Sessions of Twin Lakes,  Sister Linda (Doug) Smith of Monroe, GA; step children Jacquelyn (David) Myers of North Chesterfield, VA; Eileen Clemens of Ravenna, Russell Fritz of Cleveland as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Chuck is preceded in death by his parents GB (Jerry) and Grace Ellis, his son William (Bill) and his step daughter Veronica Markward. Calling hours will be held at Shorts Spicer Funeral Home 9781 Page Rd, Streetsboro, OH 44241 Tuesday May 30th from 4-8pm with services on Wednesday May 31th at 10:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Rob Henderson officiating.
