In loving memory of George F. Vanek, Jr. 55 of Garrettsville, Ohio who passed away January 5, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife Kathy Vanek of 35 years, children Josh and Kenny Vanek, sister Theresa Vanek, daughter in law Amber Keyes, his pride and joys grandchildren Jace Vanek, Paisley Vanek, Noah Vanek and Gabriel Vanek and countless friends and family who's lives he touched along the way. George was a hardworking family man who in his younger years enjoyed taking part in softball and bowling leagues, but probably took the most pride in being a coach to his two boys along with other young men, some of which to this day still call him "coach". Later in life George  cherished his family vacations to Myrtle Beach, family cookouts, spending time with his grandkids and watching them play sports. To a man with a contagious laugh that could fill a room and to one man with many names "George, Husband, Brother, Son, Uncle, Friend, Daddy, Pops and Papa", you will be deeply missed but always with us. Calling hours will be from 4 PM to 7 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesdsay, January 10, 2018 at the funeral home with Fr. Ed Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery in Garrettsville. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family directly or in care of the funeral home at 141 N. Meridian Street, Ravenna, OH 44266.
