Irene J. Machisko, 90, of Ravenna passed away Sunday April 30, 2017 at Mulberry Gardens in Munroe Falls, Ohio. She was born in Ravenna, Ohio to the late William and Edna (Hill) Hausch.   Mrs. Machisko has lived in Ravenna most of her life and retired in 1985 from the Ravenna School System where she worked as a Librarian. She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Ravenna.  Irene and her husband Johnnie spent many hours playing golf with family and friends.  They also loved playing cards, gardening on their farm and taking trips to visit their children and grandchildren.  One of her favorite pastimes was the monthly get togethers with ladies in  "The Club", a group of six life long friends. The best word to describe Irene is "giving".  She volunteered for many organizations including Grace Episcopal Church, Portage County Board of Elections and her children's schools.  Irene was also known as a baker "extraordinaire".  Her pies, cookies and brownies are legendary!  As her children and grandchildren would say, she was the kindest and most loving person who rarely thought of herself.   Survivors include her children Lynn Heisler of Bonita Springs, Florida/Hudson, Ohio, John Machisko and his wife Francine of Johns Creek, GA, Dave Machisko and his wife Kathleen of St. Louis, MO, grandchildren  Andrew  (Joan) Heisler, Kevin  (Kaitlin) Heisler, Jennifer  (Kyle) Bernholz,  Jeffrey (Abbey) Heisler,  Hannah Machisko, Haley Machisko, great grandchildren Caroline Bernholz, Cameron Bernholz, Natalie Heisler, her sister, Carol Joiner and her husband Jerry of Ravenna, her sister-in-law, Julie Tuttle of Kent and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Johnnie on February 25, 2017,  her son-in-law, Yank Heisler and brother and sister-in-law,  Norman and Margie Hausch.  Calling hours will be Wednesday May 3, 2017 from 6-8 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday May 4, 2017 at Grace Episcopal in Ravenna with Rev.
