James Franklin Hawkins (88) of Streetsboro went to be with the Lord his Saviour on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. Born September 12, 1930 in Glasgow Junction, KY to George and Vergie (France) Hawkins. He accepted Jesus as his Saviour June 22, 1952. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. A foundational member of the First Baptist Church of Streetsboro, he served as deacon from 1956-2019. He retired from Lubriquip Inc. in 1995 after 40 years. The things he loved most in life were spending time with his family, spreading the Gospel, fishing, hunting and telling stories of his youth to his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Rae Ellen of 64 years and his sister Ruth Lloyd. He will be missed by; his children Roger James (Donna) Hawkins and Sheri (Jeffery) Berezne, grandchildren Sarah Hawkins-Dolezal, Wesley James (Ashlee) Hawkins, Kathryn, Angela and Korban James Berezne, great grandchildren Flora, Liam James, Andrew, Logan, Brendan and brother Riley. A Celebration of Life Service along with Military Honors will be held at 4 PM Saturday, September 21, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Streetsboro, Pastor York officiating. He was laid to rest beside his wife on Monday September 16, at Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg, Oh. "To see him again, you must be born again!"
