Joseph A. Ruocchio, Sr, 69, of Ravenna passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 26, 2019. Joseph was born in Cleveland on August 14, 1949 to the late Alfred and Ada (Donzelli) Ruocchio. Joseph served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his service he attended San Jose State University and graduated with a BS in Criminal Justice. He then became a Configuration Management Engineer Senior at Northrop Corporation in California. After moving to Ohio, he later became a driving instructor for Top Driver in Tallmadge. He was a member of the Streetsboro Eagles, loved playing pool, driving his Corvette, watching the Indians, and spending time with his family. Joseph is survived by his wife, Meredith L. (Haddock) Ruocchio, whom he married September 5, 1981, his children Amanda (Ryan) Lynn, Joseph A. Ruocchio, Jr, Melanie (Stephen Shipp) Ruocchio, and Rebecca Ruocchio, siblings Tony Ruocchio, John Ruocchio, and Lucy Ruocchio, grandchildren Gianna, Owen, Weston, and Katherine who is on her way. Calling hours will be held Monday, July 1, 2019 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 11:00AM at the Streetsboro Chapel with Bishop Jeremiah Harris officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.
