+++Kenneth M Allen, 90 of Ravenna passed away peacefully Thursday July 27, 2017 at his residence with his loving family by his side.. Known to many as Gramps, Grandpa and Papa Ken he will be deeply missed. He was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Brooks C Allen and Lucille A. (Henlein) Allen. Mr. Allen was a retired tire builder from the Firestone Tire & Rubber Company. He proudly served his country with the US Navy during WWII at which time he served on PT boat Ron 31. He attended Bethel Baptist Church with his close friend Wilma Nelson. Mr. Allen was a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge of Akron and most recently with the F&AM Unity Lodge 12, Ravenna. He is survived by his beloved daughters Kemberly (Chip) Cipriano of Ravenna and Nancy (William) Binns of Mason, Ohio, Sister Janet Smith of Indian Creek NC, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, his niece and care giver Terri Kasick, as well as close friends Becky and Ricky Swartz..He also leaves behind many extended family members along with nieces and nephews and his beloved cat Spookey. In addition to his parents Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Wilda Isabelle Allen on January 20, 2013, his daughter Vickie Johnson, Son in law David Johnson, and brothers Brooks Allen and James Allen Sr. Masonic Services will be at 6:00 PM Wednesday August 2, 2017 with calling hours to follow until 8:00 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday August 3, 2017 at the Funeral home with Pastor Dave Ballet and Donald Kainrad Offciating. Military and committal services will be Thursday August 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers family asks donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Local Veterans Services in honor of our Father, grandfather, friend, War Veteran.
