Kenneth W. Millick, 62 of Rootstown passed away Friday August 11, 2017 at the Akron City Hospital.  He was born March 15, 1955 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Kenneth A. and Shirley (Shillock) Millick.  Mr. Millick has lived in Rootstown the past 15 years and was formerly  of Stow.  He was working for First Energy in Akron as a generations specialist and in October of this year he would have celebrated 40 years there.  He was a  Penn State University  graduate and a member of the Kent American Legion and St. Peter of the Fields Church in Rootstown.  Survivors include his wife Brenda (Zwilling) Millick whom he married October 12, 1997, his step  children Richard (Donna Magee) Zwilling, David (Maxine) Helmling, Greg Kirsch, 6 step grandchildren, 2 step great great grandchildren, siblings Karen (Andy) Perlik, Shirl (Hud Hood) Millick , nephews Andrew (Melody) Perlik III, Matthew Perlik and many grand nieces and nephews.  Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Thursday August 17, 2017 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday August 18, 2017 at St. Peter of the Fields Church in Rootstown with Father David Misbrenner officiating.  Everone is invited  to the Kent American Legion for a celebration of Ken’s life after the funeral service.  At his request, cremation will follow the services.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the to the S.A.L. Ohio District 14 to purchase Josh Dog Kits for children which is one of Ken's favorite things to do.
