Leonard p Polichena

Leonard P. “Lenny” Polichena, 85, of Franklin Twp. passed away Friday, December 6, 2019 at Longmeadow Care Center in Ravenna, Ohio. Leonard was born October 7, 1934 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Rocco Sr. and Frances (LaFatch) Polichena. He has lived in Franklin Twp. since 1960 and was a veteran of the US Army. Lenny was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Ravenna Elks, and the Kent American Legion. He was the co-owner of the former Polichena Motors (Haasz) in Ravenna and the owner of the Birdie Shack Putt Putt in Ravenna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Leonard M. Polichena in 2013 and siblings Rocco Jr., Nicholas, James, Anthony, Joseph, Elizabeth DeAngelis, and Francis Hutchinson. Survivors include his wife Dolores J. “Dee” (Silva) Polichena whom he married October 22, 1960, his grandchildren Michael, Victoria, Alexandria, and Robert, his daughter-in-law Lisa (Centric), brothers Russell (Becky) Polichena and Frank (Jane) Polichena, sister Carmella (Ross) D’Agostino, stepson WIlliam (Lisa) Myers and step grandchildren Billy and Olivia Myers. Calling hours will be 6-8 PM Wednesday December 11, 2019 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Thursday December 12, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary’s cemetery at a later date.
