Mary Lou King, 86, of Ravenna passed away Sunday May 19, 2019 at Altercare of Brimfield in Brimfield, Ohio. She was born December 6, 1932 to the late Joseph and Pearl (Kruger) Shephard in Kent, Ohio on the family farm. Mary Lou has lived in Ravenna since 1960 and retired in 1995 from the Ravenna City School System as a bus driver. Mary Lou was very artistic and loved to travel and thoroughly enjoyed telling about the sites and things she has seen. She cared so much about her family, that her family was her life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands Thomas Brode and Paul King, her son Michael Brode, her grandson TJ Brode and brother Jim Shephard. She is survived by her son John (Linda) Brode of Rootstown, her grandchildren Crystal (Josh) Griffin, Ryan (Lindsey) Roosa, Brittany Brode (Kevin), Tom (Michelle) Brode, Matt (Heather) Brode, 15 great grandchildren and sister Winona (John) Garrett. Calling hours will be from 6-8 PM on Thursday May 23, 2019 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Friday May 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bill Snyder Officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Ravenna, Ohio.
