Mary Jane (Neiswonger) Korpita

Mary Jane Korpita, 89, died Saturday, September 22, 2018 at home.  Born July 13, 1929 in Akron, she was the daughter of Rebecca and Walter Neiswonger. Mary Jane worked at the Ravenna L&K and the Carousel Dinner Theater. She was married to Franklin Schumann, Stephen Korpita, and Richard Crooks, all deceased.  Mrs. Korpita spent many years living in Ponce Inlet, Florida where she was active on her condo board and had great times line-dancing at the community center. Sweet Mary Jane was beautiful inside and out and made many friends. She eventually moved back to Kent, Ohio in 2005.    Survivors include her daughter Rebecca (Dennis) Brogan and her son David (Kathy) Schumann. Mary Jane has 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grand children.   Calling hours will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, where services will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, September 27, 2018 with Pastor Todd Tackett officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross, Akron, Ohio.    Thanks to Gina Rihn for her years of love and devotion to mom.
