Mary A. Kovolyan , 99 of Streetsboro, passed away Friday December 28, 2018 at the Avenue at Aurora. She was born in Garrettsville, Ohio on April 3, 1919 to the late George and Mary (Kish) Kuyon. Mrs. Kovolyan had been a longtime Streetsboro resident where she was very dedicated to her family and the family farm. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church, had retired from Streetsboro City Schools as a cook and was a foster parent to over 200 foster children. Survivors include her children, Joseph (Patricia) Kovolyan of New Hampshire, John (Jody) Kovolyan of Kent and Joan (Bob) Monroe of Ravenna, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and sister Helen Simon of Bowling Green. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 1983, her son James C. and his wife Cynthia (Doty) Kovolyan Janetakos and son Jerrold D. Kovolyan, one sister and six brothers . Calling hours will be Thursday January 3, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Friday January 4, 2019 at St. Joan of Arc Church Streetsboro, Ohio. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro, Ohio.
