Maxie Bernice Todd 81 of Atwater died Tuesday, September 25, 2018. She was born July 28, 1937 in Knoxville, TN to John R and Ruby L. (Williams) Proffitt. Survivors include her children Deborah A. Kiser and John W. Todd, grandchildren Wendy Thornton, Ronald Kelly, Carrie Dennison, Johnny Kiser, Jr., David Kiser, Jeremy Kiser, Sarah Downey, Mariea Rutherford, William Todd and Ashley Todd, many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, siblings Betty Sue Ogle and Rita Dills and extended family Johnny Kiser, Sr., Sandy Smith, Christine Bender, Carol Miller and Anita Kelly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William E. "Bill" Todd, son Dwayne E. Todd and siblings W.E. "Gene" Proffitt, Juanita "Scotty" Hurst and Ollie Proffitt. Calling hours will be from 4 - 7 PM Monday, October 1, 2018 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. A graveside service  will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Atwater Cemetery with Rev. Ron Lanham  officiating. Burial will follow in Atwater Cemetery.
