Norma Jean Eddy, 68, of Shalersville passed away on Monday March 5, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 11, 1949 in Wauseon, Ohio to the late Ralph and Louella (Short) Bender. Mrs. Eddy has lived in Shalersville since 1987 and was formerly of Streetsboro. She graduated from Eastern Mennonite College in1977 with a bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education. She was a teacher in Hazard Kentucky for 10 years in the Perry County school system. She taught at New Covenant Christian Academy in Bedford for 20 years, and then Director for the Learning Lighthouse Preschool in Aurora. She was a member of the Aurora Mennonite Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Nancy Slechta and Sara Shoup. Survivors include her husband Daniel R. Eddy whom she married July 28, 2007, her siblings Merlyn (Sandy) Bender, Mary (John) Yoder, Delores (Wayne) Yoder, Sharon (Milton) Shoup, Everett (Audrey) Bender, her brother in laws Joe Slechta, Ken Shoup and numerous nieces and nephews. She traveled to all 50 US states, finishing with Utah, Nevada and Alaska last year. Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday March 9, 2018 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel and on Saturday March 10, 2018 from 9:30 Am until time of funeral services at 10:30 AM at the Aurora Mennonite Church Aurora, Ohio.
