Randolf M. "Randy" Stegenga, Sr. 86, a Streetsboro resident since 1957, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was born August 21, 1931 in Wyckel, Holland to Simon and Edith (Ferdinands) Stegenga. He has lived in Streetsboro since 1957, proudly served in the  US Army, was a charter member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro, a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree and the Streetsboro American Legion #685. Randy retired from Chrysler Corportion in October of 1987 after 30 years of service. He was active in his community, serving on many boards with the City of Streetsboro as well as councilman at large. Survivors include his children Janet Stegenga of Cuyahoga Falls, Mary Stegenga of Streetsboro and Randy M. (Angie) Stegenga, Jr. of Stow, grandchildren Ryan, Allyson and Trevor, siblings Theresa Bane of Twinsburg and Rita Stegenga of Arizona, very special friend Helen Mary Schuman and many other special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beautiful wife Pauline M. who he married on October 25, 1958, sister Anita Davidson and brother Gary Stegenga. Calling hours will be from 2 -4 PM and 6 - 8 PM Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, November 3, 2017 at St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro with Father Chris Luoni officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro. The family request memorials to St. Joan of Arc Church, 8894 State Route 14, Streetsboro, Ohio 44241.
