Richard R. Boston 71 of Ravenna died Saturday, August 12, 2017. He was born September 15, 1945 in Akron, Ohio to Frank E. Boston Sr and Lucille R. Boston (Smith), both deceased. Richard was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was a US Air Force veteran, serving one tour of duty in Vietnam in 1967. He married the love of his life, Marlynn Reese on December 30, 1967 and is survived by their two children; Craig Boston of Streetsboro and Jennifer Haviland of Akron. Surviving siblings are; brother Frank (June) Boston, Jr of Ravenna, and sisters Patricia (Bob) Lutzenkirchen of Wauconda, IL and Judy (Dick) Svoboda of Ravenna. His three grandchildren, Ana, Chloe, and Conner will miss their Poppo greatly. Rick loved his family more than anything, but found time to enjoy glfing, camping, and his four-legged buddies; Oreo, Biff and Bogey. Spresding his optimistic outlook wherever he went, you would not have met a more genuine man.Honest and hard-working, Richard's infectious personality deeply touched those around him. Husband, brother, son, father, cousin,uncle, Poppo, friend and hero. Rick graduated from Ravenna High School, class of 1964. He retired from Tasty Pure Company in Akron after 31 years. Calling hours will be from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday, August 18, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ravenna with Pastor Dan Caruso Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Ohio, 1373 Grandview Avenue, Suite 200, Columbus, OH 43212-2804 or to the family.
