Rivers Jones

Halley Rivers Jones, 90, of Ravenna passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.  Rivers was born in Duplin County, North Carolina on  April 16, 1928 to the late Luther Ed and Ressie Mae Jones. Rivers was a veteran of the United States Army. He had lived in Ravenna since 1953 where he was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was the retired owner of Rivers Garage in Ravenna.  The shop was his life. Rivers is survived by his son, Gary (Vicki) Jones, siblings Lannis(Dorlene) Jones, Janet Heaton, and sister-in-law Carolyn Jones, and grandchildren Michael (Nancy) Jones and David Jones (Ahreiah Mahomes).   He was preceeded in death by his wife Opal, son Herald L. Jones, and siblings  Morris Jones, Louise Bradshaw Brinson, Wilma Simpson, and Ralph Jones. Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be  11 Am Monday, March 25, 2019 at the Ravenna Chapel with burial to follow at Grandview Memorial Park. Pastor David Ballert will officiate.
