Roderick E. Halverstadt

Roderick E. Halverstadt 83 of Ravenna, formerly of Salem, Ohio passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019. He was born September 7, 1936 in Salem, Ohio to Emerson and Ann (Brown) Halverstadt. Roderick was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna and the Young at Heart at the church. He retired from E. W. Bliss Company where he was a machinist. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth L. Francis, children Marsha Berger, Cheryl Dailey, David Halverstadt and Charles Halverstadt, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a sister Cecilia McClaren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Paul Halverstadt. Calling hours will be from 4 - 6 PM Friday, November 8, 2019 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna with Father William Kraynak officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Ravenna. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Immaculate Conception Church, the Portage County APL or Hospice of the Western Reserve.
