Sam J. Eddings, age 81 of Ravenna, OH went to be with his Lord on November 24, 2017. He passed away in the comfort of his family in Nashville, TN. Sam was born on December 18, 1935 in Cleveland, OH to the late Robert T. and Veabell Eddings. Sam worked for the Erie/ Conrail Railroad Co. from 1955 until he retired. He was a trackman, foreman, and driver for the company. Sam was a Deacon of Gods House of Prayer and Deliverance in Cleveland, OH. He enjoyed working on cars, drawing, painting, and cooking. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Aline Eddings, his second wife Sandra Eddings, his sons Ray Charles Eddings and Nathaniel Eddings, and by his sister Vera McElrath, and his brothers Wilber Eddings and Robert Eddings Jr. Sam is survived by his children; Dorothy of Akron, OH, Sam Jr. of Nashville, TN, Robert Lee of Kent, OH , Geneva (Jerry) of Nashville, TN, Larry (Geri) of Barberton, OH, Ricky of Nashville, TN, and Petrea (Charles) of Alliance, OH. His memory is also cherished by his sisters; Sarah Morris, Lillie Moore, Alema Newson, his brothers Rasool Eddings and David Eddings, his close friend Mary Lucille Smith,  Mr.&Mrs. Luther and Marie Fortson, a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Calling hours will be held on Thursday December 7, 2017 from 10-11 AM at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes' Ravenna Chapel.
