William L. "Bill" Grubb, 98 of Ravenna passed away Thursday April 18, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 29, 1920 in Streetsboro, Ohio to the late Burt and Rachel (Parks) Grubb. Bill has lived in Ravenna most of his life and was a retired truck driver being the former owner of Grubb Sand and Gravel in Shalersville. He was a veteran of the US Army serving his country in WW II. He loved to golf and was a member of the Ravenna American Legion, Ravenna VFW and the Ravenna Eagles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Alice M. (Toth) Grubb on March 27, 2013 after 62 years of marriage, his granddaughter Nicole Osborne, his great granddaughter Lily Bowser , three sisters and three brothers. Survivor's include his children Ruth (Jay) Osborne, Margorie Nations, Gwen (Steve) Previts, Lois Brown, William "Short" (Kim) Grubb, his sister in law whom he called his number 1 daughter Margaret (Rick) Porter, his adopted daughter Pat (Den) Krohn, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and his sister Shelva Furness. Calling hours will be from 6-8 PM on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel where funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday April 24, 2019 with Rev. Bill Snyder officiating. Burial with Military Honors by the US Army and the Ravenna VFW will follow in Riverside Cemetery Shalersville Twp., Ohio.
