William J. Poston, 87 of Streetsboro passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 17, 2017.  He was born July 11, 1930 in Wilder, Tennessee, to the late Irving and Bertha (Matthews) Poston.  William moved to Detroit to work at the Chrysler Plant when he was 19 and then moved to Streetsboro, Ohio, in 1959 which is where he and his wife started their own business (Poston Drywall, Inc.) in July of 1971 and built the first apartment complex in Streetsboro.  Through the years he has built and remodeled many homes, duplexes and apartment buildings.  His passion, besides his family, was restoring antique and classic cars.  William is survived by his wife of 65 years Dolores (Sheppard) Poston, his son Doug (Diane) Poston, his grandchildren Michelle, Bill, Brian, Allison and Whitney Poston, his great granddaughter Delaney, his sister Reba "Poston" Ledbetter, his daughter-in-law Sharon Poston and many loving extended family members and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son David Poston in 2003 and eight brothers and sisters.  Calling hours will be Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 20, 2017.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Streetsboro, Ohio.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.  Condolences and memories of William may be shared with his family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
