Barbara J. Harris

Barbara J. Harris, 75 of Ravenna went home to be with the Lord Monday November 16, 2015 at the Woodlands at Robinson in Ravenna.  She was born in Akron, Ohio on July 2, 1940 and had lived in Ravenna most of her life. She graduated from Newton Falls High School class of 1958. She had worked for East Park Restaurant  for over 40 years as a cook. She was the mother of the Tabernacle of God Church in Ravenna. She loved her family dearly; her children and grandchildren was the joy of her life. Barbara was known for her sweet soft spoken spirit. She enjoyed bowling, listening to gospel music, doing word puzzles, watching game shows and soaps.  Barbara leaves to cherish her memories her children Sidney (Lajoyce) Harris, Raymond (Shanika) Harris, Denise (Darrell) Dukes, Brenda Bell all of Ravenna, 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and her special friend Alice Bryant.  She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse A. Harris, Jr., mother Willie Mae Moore and sister-in-law Dorothy Benson. Calling hours will be Friday November 20, 2015 from 10:00 Am until time of funeral services  at 11:00 AM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Pastor Danny Fincham officiating.  Burial will follow the services at Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio.  Condolences and memories of Barbara may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com .
