Anna M. Steele 100 of Rootstown died Tuesday, March 18, 2014. She was born April 17, 1913 in Akron, Ohio to Pete and Anna (Rabbits) Mesko. Anna was formerly of Palmyra and has lived in Rootstown since 1959. She loved working in her flower beds, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and going out to eat with her good friend Jackie Howald. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond H. Steele in 1994, son Charles Steele, daughter in law Carolyn Steele, grandson Rusty Steele, brothers Pete and Charles Mesko and special niece Mary King. Survivors include her daughter Patricia (James) Fox of Randolph, son Pete (Carol) Steele of Ravenna, 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Calling hours will be from 11 AM to time of service at 1 PM Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Chaplain Lori Pugh will officiate. Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown. The family wishes to thank Crossroads Hospice and especially caregivers Ashley, Terra and Tara for their loving care and support.
