Annmarie M. (Zubic) Anderson

Annmarie M. Anderson, 84, of Streetsboro passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Avenue at Aurora. She was born January 26, 1936 in Monessen, PA to Frank, Jr. and Margaret (Swade) Zubic. Annmarie was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Streetsboro and had been an elementary educator for Twinsburg City Schools at Bissell and Dodge. Annmarie was employed by Twinsburg Schools for 28 of her 36 years of teaching. She had a bachelor’s degree in education and attended California State Teachers College in Pennsylvania. Annmarie enjoyed professional sports and was a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. She was a people person and devoted her life to enriching and helping her students and others succeed in their life’s goals and aspirations. Her family meant the world to her. Survivors include: her children; Margaret A., husband Hugh, Jr., Downs; and Robert H., wife Susan, Anderson; grandchildren, Alan R. Downs (16), and Samantha G. (26), husband James, Pettit; and great-grandson James Pettit, Jr., (4). She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard N., Jr. in 1999; and her only sibling, Elizabeth "Betty" Jean Zubic, in 1988. Private family calling hours and services have been held and burial was in Holy Name Cemetery in Monessen, PA.
