Arlene M (Velisek) Wellhausen

Arlene M. Wellhausen, 80 of Rootstown, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 6, 2021. She was born on November 5, 1940 in Cleveland, OH to the late Joseph and Mamie (Hajek) Velisek. Arlene had worked as a telemarketer and retired in 1986 from EBSCO Telephone Service. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna, Young at Heart, Portage County Senior Center, the Red Hat Society and loved her feathered friends. Along with her parents, Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, William W. "Bill" Wellhausen, Sr, grandson Joseph Proudfoot,grand daughter Angela Proudfoot. She is survived by her children Dave(Andrea) Proudfoot, Debbie (Bill) Root, Robert Proudfoot, Mary Ann (Kyle) Fritch, Michael Soltis, Bill Wellhausen, Jr. and Joe Wellhausen, 14 grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Friends may gather for calling hours from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.  Family and friends may gather at the funeral home  on Friday from 10:00 Am until 10:30 AM before the Mass of Christian burial will be  on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM at  Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna and burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
