Barbara A. "Barb" (Brooks) Hillis

Barbara A. "Barb" Hillis, 69 of Paris Twp., passed away Sunday December 29, 2019 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio.  On June 28, 1950 Barb was born in Welch, WVA  to the late William L. and Minnie Louise (White) Brooks.  She has lived in Paris  Twp. since 1986 and was formerly of Ravenna.  She retired from Empire Die Casting in Macedonia where she worked in the tool crib.  Barb enjoyed bowling, doing crossword puzzles, was a member of the Newton Falls VFW Aux and loved spending time with her grandchildren.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Helen Lowe and Pat Blankenship.  Survivors include  her husband Stanley B. Hillis whom she married January 17, 1970, her daughters, Stefanie (Jeffrey) Aten of Streetsboro, Tracie (Rick Bakken) Myers of Brookpark, Trisha Hillis of Ravenna, her grandchildren Alex, Ali, Derek, Jarrett, Cali, David Hunter, Jessie, Josh, Aaron, Emma and her sister Brenda Sue Cripple.  In honoring Barb's wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday January 6, 2020 from 2-5 PM at the Newton Falls VFW 433 Arlington Rd.
