Barbara Jean (Kerns) Godfrey

Barbara Jean Godfrey 83 of Ravenna passed away Friday, August 2, 2013 at Altercare of Brimfield.  She was born June 1, 1930 in Morgantown, WV to the late Thomas and Minnie (Rogers) Kerns.  Barb lived in Portage  area most of her life.  She worked for Ma Bell in Washington DC, Retired from  Bil-Mar Foods.  She was a former member of Drakesburg Assembly of God Church. Enjoyed knitting, sewing, all crafts, writing poetry,  was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and loved helping others.  Survivors include her children, Nancy Jo ( Steve) Clifford of Ravenna, Galen E. Godfrey of Ravenna, Sherry A. (Greg) Smith of Strong, AR, grandchildren, Todd (Patra), Farrah (Rick), Adam (Tiffany), David, Ernie (Lynn), great grandchildren, Taylor, Avery, Kyale, Spencer, Carlee, Dakota, Shayla, Cole, and a niece, Karen Calnan of Vicksburg, MS.  Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel with Pastor Allen Rittmann officiating.  Family would like to Thank the staff at Altercare of Brimfield and Robinson Memorial Hospital for their loving care.  Memorials can be made to either, RMH visiting Nurses and Hospice or the Activates dept. at Altercare of Brimfield.
