Barbara J. (Matta) Powell

Barbara J. Powell 47 of Ravenna passed away Monday August 30, 2010 at her residence.  She was born June 12, 1963 in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Steve and Wanda (Lawson) Matta.  She has lived in Streetsboro the past 16 years and had worked for Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna for 29 and 1/2 years.  Survivors include her husband of 23 years Gordon Powell, children Amanda J., Nathan M. and Jonathan A. Powell, brothers Stephen (Belinda) Matta of Bremerton, WA,  John (Diane) Matta of Brimfield, George Matta of Streetsboro,  Michael Matta of Norton, Andrew Matta of Streetsboro, Timothy (Tracy) Matta of Ravenna, sisters Patricia Matta of Streetsboro and Christine (Ron) Johnson of Ravenna.  Calling hours will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday Sept. 3, 2010 at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Homes Streetsboro Chapel.  Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday Sept. 4, 2010 at St. Joan of Arc Church  Streetsboro, Ohio.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Streetsboro, Ohio.
