Barbara G. (Mccourt) Hanning

Barbara G. Hanning, 77 of Mantua, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at  UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna following a 25 year battle with Parkinson's Disease. Barbara was born on July 31, 1944 in Webster Springs, WV to the late Noah and Mildred (Giles) McCourt. She had worked as a Journeyman Roofer for the Morgan Daugherty Roofing company and was the owner of Barbara's Barber Shop in Mantua. Barbara also enjoyed fishing. Along with her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her daughter Tammy Lommler,  and her siblings Norman McCourt, Leroy McCourt and Carol Smith. She is survived by her husband John D. Hanning whom she married on October 13, 1961 and her son Ron Hanning of Mantua. Per her request, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 1:00PM at the Mantua Center School 11741 Mantua Center Rd., Mantua, Ohio 44255. Condolences and memories of Barbara can be shared with her family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.
