Barbara H. (Piehl) Ross

Barbara H. Ross 90 of West Hartford, CT, formerly of Ravenna, died Saturday, November 18, 2017. She was born September 15, 1927 in Cleveland, OH to Henry J. and Barbara (Kayne) Piehl. Barbara lived in Ravenna until 2004 when she moved to Connecticut to be taken care of by her loving son Rob, who certainly entertained us with lots of stories and laughter. She served one term as a Portage County Commissioner and was on the Ravenna School Board. She was the beloved mother of Betsy Papiska, Rebecca Ross, Mary Henshaw, Gayle Marsh, Rita Droney, Lee Ross, David Ross, Jim Ross, Rob Ross, Gary Ross and Joe Ross, 20 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and nephew Charly Sapp. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ann Sapp and twin brother Hank Piehl. Calling hours will be from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM Friday, November 24, 2017 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 PM Friday, November 24, 2017 at St. Peter of the Fields Church in Rootstown. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Hudson, Ohio.
