Benedict J. "Ben" Dusek, Jr.

Benedict J. "Ben"  Dusek, Jr. 70 of Ravenna, passed away Tuesday June 23, 2020 at UH Portage Medical Center in Ravenna, Ohio.  On August 14, 1949, Ben was born in Ravenna, Ohio to the late Benedict J. and Margaret V. (Slama) Dusek.  Being a lifelong Ravenna resident, he was a retired mechanic who had worked for  B&B Auto wrecking and Brewster Hardwood Lumber.  He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. who served in the Vietnam War.  A few of Ben's favorite things  were Easter breakfast, Dusek Christmas and Hayes Christmas.  What Ben looked forward to the most  was the Lovejoy's Canada fishing trips at Camp Mitawanga with his family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Curtis A Dusek and brother Milan Dusek.  Survivors include his wife Judith (Hawley) Dusek whom he married November 21, 1970, his sisters Susan Brewster, Linda Crock, Shiela Hawkins, his sister in laws Margaret Pontius, Norma Magley, brother in law Bob Magley, several nieces , nephews and friends and especially his Canada friends.  Calling hours will be from 6-8 PM Friday June 26, 2020 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel, where funeral services will  be 11:00 AM Saturday June 27, 2020 with Rev.
