Betty Margaret (Chittenden) Havens

Betty Margaret (Chittenden) Havens, 77, joined the angels in heaven on Monday, February 13, 2017 in Kent after a battle with breast cancer. Born on November 29, 1939 to the late-Harold Chittenden and Mabel Hickox of Bristol, Ohio. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Irene M. Price and Doris Martindale and brother Robert C. Stewart.
Betty and her husband of 58 years, Ben Havens, resided in Rootstown, Ohio, with their seven children. A lover of Bingo and country folk music, Betty will be remembered by her family and friends as a strong woman who cared for others, especially her 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Betty worked many jobs around Portage County, with her last place of employment as a caregiver at Brookside Assisted Living.
Betty is survived by her sisters Nancy Vickers, Barbara Jean Laylin and Joann Becker, brother James Stewart, children William (Linda) Havens, Becky (Paul) Smith, Tammy (Dave Finfrock) Havens, Jeff (Ginger) Havens, Bonnie (William) King, Ben (Joanne) Havens, and Melody (Mark Kidd) Havens, and grandchildren Jessica (Josh) Lynch, Crystal (Dudley) Guerrero, Eric Malcolm, Dylan Smith, Cory Havens, Ashley King, John Kirksey, Zac King, Ishmale Kirksey, Breanna Havens, Alex Kiser, Tiffany Havens, Emily Havens, Zoe Havens, Blake Havens and Madison Havens, and great-grandchildren Natalie and Leland Guerrero. Betty’s family and friends will miss her dearly.
Calling hours will be Saturday February 18, 2017 from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel with Pastor Connie Mccambridge Officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio.
