Betty M (Hart) Theiss

Betty M. Theiss  90 of Ravenna passed away Monday, January 3, 2012 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family. She was born January 10, 1921 in Cleveland to the late Harold G. and Ruth M. (Shaulis) Hart.  Betty was an Elementary School Teacher for the Ravenna City Schools till she retired in 1984. She enjoyed reading, she read the Bible 3 times, knitting, baking bread, and loved spending time with her great grandchildren.  Survivors include her daughters Dianne (Don) Hammel of Ravenna, Cynthia (Lynn) Blinebery of Harrison, OH, son Henry Lee (Nancy) Theiss of Lake Placid, FL, sisters Shirley Taylor of Ravenna, Peggy (Wayne) Porter of Hampton, VA, grandchildren Stephanie (Paul) Schoenberg, Julio (Jennifer) Sanclemente, Monique Burnett, Jason (Sara) Theiss, Jennifer (Gerald) Kline, Megan (Jason) Burkett, Meredith (Aaron) Garrett, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Theiss whom died October 18, 2000, grandson, Charley Theiss, and great grandson Mychal Cameron Sanclemente. Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the First Congregational Church in Ravenna with Rev. Pamela Cheney officiating.  In lieu of flowers family request donations to ether the First Congregational Church in Ravenna, or to the Portage County Animal Protective League.
