Bill Karaffa

Bill Karaffa, age 67, passed away on March 21, 2017 of natural causes at his home in Twinsburg, OH.  Born on December 27, 1949 in Ravenna, OH, Bill graduated from Ravenna High School, Class of 1968, and Kent State University. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Zavortink Karaffa.  Bill is survived by his sister, Constance of Kent, OH.  He is survived by special friend Sue Gregg, and dear friends Mrs. Cyrus Morrison (Mrs. Mo), Frances Stevens, Kate Stragisher, Terri McManus and many other friends and cousins. Bill was an entrepreneur.  He worked as an independent insurance agent for many years.  In his spare time, Bill dabbled in investments and collecting coins. His favorite Lake Erie location was Port Clinton, where he spent many hours enjoying the lake and rebuilding a boat. Cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service at the Kent United Methodist Church Chapel at 11am, Saturday May 6, 2017.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Longmeadow Care Center, Activities Dept., 565 Bryn Mawr St., Ravenna, OH 44266. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
