Surrounded by family and friends, Bobbie (Bob) E. Bennett, 75 of Ravenna, passed away on October 9, 2023. He is preceded in death by both parents, George L. Bennett and Gracie M. (Shrewsbury) Bennett.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, Carolyn L. (Nicholson) Bennett, whom he was married to for 55 years. Daughters: Lori (Bennett) Fulkerson and the late Jason Fulkerson of Volant, PA, Cassie (Bennett) Davis and Christy Davis of Columbus, and Lisa (Bennett) Wilms and John Wilms, Jr. of Salem. He is also survived by the joy of his life, 7 grandchildren: Justin and Hannah (Bowersox) Fulkerson, Abigail Fulkerson, Ella Fulkerson, Corbin Davis, Branson and Reagan (Meals) Wilms, Logan Wilms, Gavin Wilms, and great grandson Griffin Wilms. He was the eighth of nine children to the late George and Gracie. He is sibling to brother Jack (preceded in death) and Theresa Bennett, sister Rita and Edward Phillips, sister Yvonne (preceded in death) and Clay Adams, sister Patty and Orrie (preceded in death) Griffith, Brother Flip and Joyce Bennett, brother Pete and Donna Bennett (both preceded in death), brother Ronnie and Patti Bennett, brother Rick and Janet Bennett, as well as generations of nieces and nephews. Bob worked an incredible 51 years for Norton Company/ Saint Gobain Company where he loved his job and work family. Bob was truly a gentleman and extremely proud of his family circle. His favorite activity was watching his grandchildren compete in their many sports, especially baseball. He loved music and shared his talents by playing the guitar and singing with family and friends. He also loved nature and greatly enjoyed the outdoors, often picnicking with his wife Carol and planting massive gardens over the years. He also advocated for the appreciation and enjoyment of the little things in everyday life. He looked forward to the changing seasons and their landmarks such as the blue summer sky, a colorful Autumn, the sound of Katydids and Spring Peepers, and the sparkle of fresh snow. He was also known as the “MacGyver” of the family. He could successfully fix just about anything quickly, out of very little. Bob will be greatly missed by many and is a treasure that will live on in our hearts. Honoring his wishes, A private service will be held in Ravenna and officiated by his brother, Rick Bennett.
