Bruce William Bowers

Bruce William Bowers, 72 of Ravenna, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Bruce was born on August 24, 1950, in Wadsworth to his late parents William and Mary Bowers. He worked for nearly 40 years for the Record Courier in sales, marketing, and business services. Bruce was a lifelong resident of Portage County and worked with many small businesses and other organizations in the Kent-Ravenna community. He was a graduate of Aurora High School and earned a BA from Murray State University in Kentucky. As a third generation Boy Scout, Bruce was very active in Scouting as a youth and adult and greatly enjoyed camping and other outdoor activities his entire life. Bruce was well known as a kind, generous, and helpful individual who loved working with his hands and expanding his knowledge on all manner of topics. Bruce is survived by his siblings Judy Ratcliff, Paul Bowers, and Philip Bowers. At his request, cremation has taken place. Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 12:00 PM followed by a 1:30 PM memorial service at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel.
